Break a leg Rex!!

Sounds like such a fun night. I'd loved to have been there. It seems like people don't sing enough at Christmas any more.

I'm playing for an hour the evening of December the 4th. If you are in the St. Louis area let me know and I will get you directions. Here is my playlist for this year. All tremolo except for 2 on chromatic and 1 on a Melody Maker. This clocks in at one hour playing 2, 3, or 4 times through each one (depending on the tune). My arrangements have gotten better over the years and I am looking forward to this year. I am going to contact some local nursing homes and see if they would also like me to play some Christmas music next month.

That's a good list you have there Rex. I suppose you've played them all enough over time to where you wont have to practice much before the concert.

Thanks Sarge. It has developed over time and some tunes have been dropped in favor of others. I have been playing Christmas music on the harmonica for over 15 years but just to entertain family and friends. This gig, and a couple others that I sometimes play at, are a more recent thing and I take them pretty serious. I focus on this program in November and play it once or sometimes a few times in December. Then I forget all about it for 10 months. But it does seem that they come back to me rather quickly again in November. I don't play much of anything else in November. I also spend some time cleaning and tuning my harps in November so they sound their best. Many people have told me they enjoyed hearing Christmas carols on the harmonica and that motivates me to do my best each year. 

That's great Rex. I'm glad it all went well. Playing for the folks at the nursing home is a wonderful way to share your talent.
