Sight reading Billy in the Lowground

I can read standard notation fine for guitar or mandolin, but for harp I have been playing by ear or using tab. I have decided to work on my sight reading for the harp. Of course they come in different keys so I have decided to read in C no matter which harp I use. Like a guitar player might be playing music written in C but using a capo to play it in another key. So far it is going pretty well and I'm happy with my progress in a short period of time. Of course that means pulling out sheet music in C. Two that I had already were Liberty and Billy in the Lowground. Turns out they both work well in first position on the tremolo harp. Not ready to record them yet, just started tonight. Billy was a surprise. I thought it would be great for practice only but it turns out that many of the phrases use pairs of notes that are in the same breath direction so I get twice as many notes for each huff and puff. I think this tune is going to be a keeper. It sounds great on the G harp but guitar players usually do it in C. On the C harp the B part gets really squeaky. If I play the B part an octave down it sound nice so I'll probably learn it that way for jams and learn it the other way to play solo on a G or A harp.
