If anyone is interested, this will allow you convert your videos to music only.
I am closing down my YouTube channel. I decided to try to save the music and delete the videos. Here is basically how I did it in case anyone else would like audio files of their YouTube videos.
1. On your YouTube channel, go to "manage videos". Click on the little dots associated with a video and a menu appears. Click download. I then deleted the video so I wouldn't try to download it again. With 200 it's easy to forget. Delete is also found in the same menu as download. After downloading a bunch of videos, I created a file folder called YouTube and put them all in it. Inside that folder I created another folder for converted videos.
2. Import an MP4 video to Audacity. You need to download a plug in first so Audacity can read MP4 files. Just search for MP4 on the Audacity site and they have a link for the file. Install it and boot up or reboot Audacity.
3. After importing the file, just export the audio. I did MP3, but it also allows WAV files and perhaps others. If a file is not very loud, you can boost the volume using Audacity before you export it. Create a folder to export to. After exporting, delete the project in Audacity and import another file.
I found it helpful to create a folder within the download folder. It was labeled "converted". After converting a bunch of files, I would move them into the converted folder. That way I could keep track of what needed converted and what was done. Important when doing a lot.
This sounds hard, but once the assembly line gets going it's quick. Import, convert, export is less than 15 seconds. Don't know where, if anyplace even, I'll put these, but at least I have that option now.
