Hello everybody, I am a cattle farmer in South Africa. I have been playing harmonica since I was a child, over 50 years.
During the Covid 19 lockdown I decided it is time to learn something new, so I added a banjo ukelele. Then I found a couple of banjos and mandolins. And then I found a few melodeons, followed by Anglo concertinas. And now I enjoy all of them. (Next, I am busy restoring an old Bandoneon). I am addicted to instruments- have a collection of over 60 harmonicas, about 20 banjos, ukeleles and mandolins, about 10 melodeons, and 4 antique reed organs (which I cannot play).
I mostly play South African folk music and traditional Boeremusiek. I mostly enjoy playing harmonica together with banjo.

). I play the boerekonsertina, eventhough I started on the anglo, because I thought I'd need its extra notes. But I never liked its squeaky sound and couldn't get real music from it. It's difficult to get to know a bit more about boeremusiek here in Germany (at least some years ago, when I tried to find out more about it). Do you know of any books about it?
