Warning-do not buy

Just a friendly warning not to Buy Hering Master blues diatonic harmonicas. You come across some of them still for sale on Amazon and eBay (for shame eezyreeder). I have two New old stock octave and tremolo Hering so I was drawn by the super low prices. Wow what a train wreck. I got an Aflat and a G. Out of the box they were quiet and the G had a noticeably out of tune reed. I decided to check them and took them apart. Each of the cover plate screws were loose. All of the reed plate screws were loose....like 1/8 of an inch loose on one. On the Aflat the reed plate was screwed into the wooden comb crooked. Allowing the corner of the reed plate to protude out. This would obviously cause trauma to the lips quickly. Not to mention they have a strange taste. It’s not the comb but the metal. But i can’t place it. So I spent a total of $35 on two wasted harmonicas. $35 would have bought me a nice quality Harp. So if the deal is too good to be true it probably is. Oh wait I forgot the best part!!!!! The Aflat which is decently in tune is not in standard pitch!! According to my tuner it is perfectly in the middle of Aflat and G. I guess that means it’s a full quarter tone out. I guess I’ll keep it in my work truck glove box for when I get bored.
