Well I got a harmonica from an eBay seller that was a “lightly used” but cleaned unsere lieblinge that “played beautifully”. It was packed nicely, looked very nice and was so out of tune.it was like Two reeds had been replaced with random reeds from another keyed harp. It was like the sound of banging your fist on a piano. I didnt get my tuner to see but it sounded more like instead of a c note it was closer to eflat. I don’t even know how it could have been so bad out. I think I will be sticking to new harmonicas.

Perhaps there is some crude or a dead spider in that old harp? It might need cleaned. Also some tremolo and octave harps don't start on the key note. Some C harps start on E instead of C. Instead of CEGCEGCEGC it might be EGCEGCEG. Imagine a 10 hole Richter with just holes 2-9.

Used harps are a gamble. Some are gems and some are junk.
It might be an opportunity to learn some repair skills?

I bought a group of pre used harmonicas from Ebay too, but when I got around to opening them up, to give them a clean, they must have had decades of gunge in them, they were so bad that I threw all but one away!

Never again will I buy pre used harmonicas.

(Trying to do justice to various instruments.)

I examined the reeds (clearly viewed from the back). And they all looked in good order and well polished(perhaps too polished?) I sent it back because it was clearly not as described. I also forgot I ordered a kongsheng tremolo (one of there top of line models.) from Amazon. I got a refund and email stating it had been damaged in shipment and “failed a security check point”. They had two available so I am wondering if this was a fake listing or something fishy. I guess I’ll stick with rockin Ron’s and the eezyreeder seller.
