I've made a video of Highland Cathedral, a tune I got to know as a new song in our marching band several years ago. I used a C and a G-harp (and D and A) for it, but it's also possible to play it at the high end. And that song was the reason why I wanted to buy a low C or a Lucky 13. Maybe someone might play it on a low harp or a Echo Harp, that would be cool!
I tried to imitate the snare drums, but it's rather incomplete.

The harp changes provide extra chords as well as extra notes even if all the notes were on a single harp. I don't recall many marches on this forum. This is a good start.

I like this tune. I thought it was Scottish but it was composed by Ulrich Roever and Michael Korb. I recorded it a while ago on Epicentric but I have no idea how to share it with you. I would have transposed it into C. I will see if I can find the original recording.

Maggie West's Waltz has become popular in recent years. It is a new tune written by a young lady from Ireland. Ashokan Farewell is not very old and is well known.

I must admit I do not have an authoritative definition. I'm just going by what has been accepted at folk and trad music jams and festivals in my little corner of the world for the past three decades. Things may be very different elsewhere. I'm not well traveled.

Many Germans settled here many years ago so we have Oktoberfests and Strassenfests with what I suppose is real German folk music.

At the bluegrass festivals they do have a very narrow definition of bluegrass music and you will be made aware of it if you stray too far afield! I've encountered the same attitude at Irish sessions. Try to play an old Scottish or Welsh or English tune and you may be shown the door!

Around here the folkies and the Old Time players are pretty easy going. I've even seen old retired farmers jamming with young pot smoking hippies around a camp fire, although that's not typical. Those groups usually are separate but can be found at the same festival. Live and let live. Bluegrass festivals can have pages of rules and will eject you.
