Old time minor songs?

The Rights of Man is a well known hornpipe most often done in Em. Here is my attempt from a few years ago.

I don't know many minor key tunes. I once saw a list of minor key tunes for harmonica and remember not recognizing most of the titles. Good luck. If you find more please list them.

Thanks Sarge. Tunes like that take practice. Start basic and slow and then add some ornaments and speed up. My version was a bit sloppy by Irish session standards.
Matt, any major key harp can play in the relative minor key. C can play Am. G harp can play Em, etc.
The Paddy Richter gives you the low note without bending. On a C harp the low end has 2 G notes but no A note. The Paddy has the A to start the A minor scale.
It was actually designed to play major key Irish tunes in 1st position (C on a C harp). Bending to get the A note was tricky on fast tunes. In the other video above the second tune is Off to California, a major key hornpipe that benefits from the Paddy mod. Try playing What a Friend We Have in Jesus on your new Paddy. The held A note on blow 3 is very hard to hold in tune as a bend on a standard diatonic. Start the song on +6. Later in the tune there is a nice easy half step bend on draw 4 that sounds great.

Dm on a C harp is third position. Third position plays the Dorian minor scale. Am on a C harp is fourth position which is the natural minor scale. There are only 2 A notes on a C harp. -6 and -10. You can get a lower A note by bending -3. Paddy Richter gives you that note as +3 allowing the natural minor scale to start lower without bending.

I had some Paddy Richter harps about 15 years ago and played mostly major key songs on them. They are useful. I eventually gravitated to the Melody Maker as my 10 hole diatonic of choice and sold my Paddys online. The Asian tremolo harmonicas are a bit like the Paddy in that you play major in first and get the A note in the low octave. That is one reason Irish players prefer the Asian tremolo harmonicas over the German Richter harps. 

Thanks Sarge. I was in my 30s when a banjo player convinced me playing by ear was not only possible but even preferable to reading dots. He thought sheet music and theory were bad things but I respect all methods of playing. The music is what matters. A little understanding helps me pick songs that fit the harp and harps that fit the song.
