Excuse my rant, folks! I am not really upset about this. It really is a good thing! But it will change things for me.
So from the 01.01.2020 there will be a new regulation of import in Norway. The new rules says you have to pay the toll of 25% on anything you buy, this is natural. But you also have to pay a standard fee of approximately 30 dollars (300 nok).
The consequence is that if I order a harmonica at 20 bucks, I will have to 55 for it. This means I can no longer impulse buy harmonicas. It won't be worth it! What I have to do now is to buy from local shops. This is what's good about this law, it forces me to pay a little bit more from local suppliers. We only have one store that sells AND knows about harmonicas in Norway so I will only buy from this store now. This is good, but it means special harmonicas will take quite long to order as they aren't stocked.
I am really supportive of this law, and I hope it will strengthen Norwegian stores. Maybe make harmonica an instrument shops can earn money from again and thus strengthen the availability in the long run.
For me, I should probably focus a little more on playing my harmonicas instead of buying new ones! I suppose we are all winners in this!
