This is a Swedish folk dance tune. A fellow learned a German folk tune from my Youtube page and sent me a link of him playing it. While on his Youtube page I listened to a few of his other tunes and really liked this one. I had never heard it before. He added chords and rhythm to his version. I may try that after I get more familiar with the tune and have listened to a few authentic versions. Batsman translates to boatman and is pronounced boatsman. Dack is pronounced Deck and is a persons name. The tune is written in honor of a sailor who sailed around the world and who also was a good fiddle player. It is popular at Swedish folk dances.
