January Songs - Ald Lang Syne & 8th of January

Happy New Year y’all! Jim asked if I’d pick a couple tunes this month. So here are two that look fun to me.
First, why not ring in 2019 with some new takes on the old Scottish tune, “Auld Lang Syne.”

Second, we can try the fiddle tune “Eighth of January.” The melody was given words much later, and so you may also know it by the title “Battle of New Orleans.”
    I was thinking Sam Hinton played it, but I can’t seem to find it. If anyone knows where to look, I’d love to see that one.
